The go-to ball of choice for picklersThe Franklin X-40 Pickleball in Neon Green color is the first choice of many picklers, especially in the parks where I play. If you pull out a Neon Green X-40 ball, you won't get any complaints about the color or the brand from any of the players! Just be sure to put your initials on the ball with a permanent marker, otherwise it WILL get lost in the fray of everyone else's Neon Green X-40 balls being played on the courts! The balls that I recently bought recently TotalPickleball also has the addition of the Franklin logo printed on them, whereas in previous iterations, it only had the signature "X" imprint.
One caveat with the ball is that it does crack a little more often than I'd like, particularly in colder temperatures or with hard hitting players, but that's a general problem with all pickleballs, being made of plastic and all. The bottom line is, if you're looking for pickleballs that will make everyone on the courts happy, you can't go wrong with the Neon Green Franklin X-40's!
Solid, Fast, and Pretty DurableSolid, fast, and pretty durable. Either these or the durafast are going to be your go-to ball.
PeterI now would not recommend the Franklin X 40 exterior Pickleball. At one time they were molded with out a seam. Then I noticed they were seamed together. They still performed well. I purchase a dozen balls this week and found all the seam's were overlapping and the ball wobble in flight. Store will not give me a refund, I have to file a warranty claim which I can not find on this site. Check your new balls.
