Overview

Head Hawk is a firm, low-powered monofilament that rewards long, fast strokes with exceptional precision. This string benefits from a unique manufacturing process along with special chemical additives which give it above average touch and comfort for a firm control string. Our TW playtesters reported incredible bite and massive spin with this string. Needless to say, players who hit with heavy topspin should love this one.

Comments: Really great string if you're a high level player who can take full swings at the ball. Unbelievable control I've never experienced with any string before, it looks like you can hit every ball a foot inside the baseline. Doesn't get springy or uncontrollable like Alu Power but has the same feeling trough out it's life. No wonder pros play with this string.

Comments: Extremely low powered poly, very little pop. This could be a good string in a more powerful frame, but in my Head Pro Tour 280, it was not a good combination. I could tell that spin potential is there, the string snaps back and slides easily, and durability is good.

Comments: Incredible string! Comparable to Lux ALU power with less power, but more spin from the snap-back. Head hawk really shines as you bring more racket head speed; the more the better. Tension maintenance was better than ALU. I'm a 6.0+ / UTR 12-13.

Comments: 6 month durability test was beyond my expectation. Got it strung on a Head Instinct MP racquet at 53 lbs. Played close to 120 hours of singles, doubles and practice. First half of the play was very reliable. Good topspin, easy to hit flat balls and controlled power. Strings felt crisp and lively when hit on the sweet spot. Off center hits were not very forgiving on the arm. Started to notice significant notching on strings after 80-90 hours. String movement was really good for the first 80 hours and then progressively got worse till it snapped. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a spin friendly, firm and controllable (low powered) string. I'm a 3.5 player with relatively big and erratic swing.

Comments: Good string, but very minimal spin production, great for hitting a flat ball.

Comments: I'm a 4.0 player and tried it on a Head Radical MP 16x19. It has a nice explosive power that lets you easily reach the base line. Plenty of power though but perhaps it is the combo with the racquet. Felt rather crisp and no arm problem at all despite its properties as monoclone. Overall a very good string.

Comments: Not the best string that I have played with. It is extremely under powered and I don't have that extra power to get a good serve over. For volleys and groundstrokes I can't find that extra power again to put away points and get the ball quickly back in doubles. Good spin potential, but I struggle with getting it really deep sometimes.
