Overview

Isospeed Cream is an extremely comfortable control string, making it ideal for the big hitter who wants a more arm-friendly option. The low-powered response is perfect for the player who likes taking massive cuts at the ball without having to worry about over hitting. Compares very favorably to the softest co-polys on the market.

Great cross string in a hybrid setup!Love this string! I'm a 4.5 player using it as a cross with YTEX Square X Sharp 18g in the mains of my RF97. Cream works great as a cross in a hybrid setup because it is rounded and has a very slick coating. This means much less string notching and way more snapback and spin. Minimal notching also extends the life of the strings by a long margin. Cream holds tension well (after the typical initial dip of most strings) giving a great amount of control. Cream is also soft on the arm. Power is medium. It provides access to power but isn't a cannon, which helps retain control and spin. It feels different than most other strings, so there might be an adjustment period for some, but it works amazing for me. My power game, accuracy, and kick second serve are way better with this setup. I'm now #1 on our club singles ladder with this hybrid setup.

Ideal string for controlGreat strings that gives me more control and spins. I use it in the mains along with NRG2 in the cross. Very happy with the results.

Helps with controlThis string has really helped me control the spins and is easy on the arm if you have chronic tennis elbow. I use it in combination with NRG2 string in the cross.

Possibly the softest poly out thereTried this string on a whim and boy was I surprised. I have a reconstructed elbow so I'm cautious about using most poly string. Using Cream in a hybrid set up with Isospeed Control+ I found the string to be extremely soft and comfortable. I would recommend stringing couple lbs higher than normal unless you need something softer than you have.

My 1st time using a Poly StringHave been using Head Velocity Multifilament 17G strings on my Blade 98 v7 16x19 due to a tender elbow and wrist. Strung my Velocity at 55 lbs and I loved these strings but noted that at times when I went for a winner, a higher percentage of shots than I preferred went slightly out or wide. So decided to give a soft co-poly string a try to see if I could generate more spin to keep more balls in when I went for my shot. Strung a full bed at 53 lbs in my Blade 7 and after getting adjusted to the strings, found Cream improved my control and spin potential quite a bit. More balls were landing in and with sharper angles when I went for those. Serves that were going long were staying in. Cream is definitely more harsh on my arm than a multifilament though. But so far it’s been tolerable. May have to go the hybrid route down the road. Thus, far have played about 7 hours with these strings and tension seems to be holding up well. Since Velocity strings lasted me about 25 hours of play before they snapped, I’m hoping Cream will last that long so at the 25 hour mark, I will cut them out. Some reviewers seem to write that Cream breaks quite early so I will see if that’s true or not. I already see one section of the Cream strings with a small shred sticking out so there’s a chance it may break before 25 hours. If I can get over 20 hours of play on Cream, it will be my go to string going forward.

Solid HittingAfter being on back order, the strings came and strung up in a EZONE 98 305g. Initially was not sure how big of swing I needed but once I started hitting with it became solid. I could hit my spots on serve. Wide, T, T, Wide. Felt confident and felt good. The only thing is that these strings lasted me a week. I play WTT league and weekend hitting around 5-7 hours a week. Disappointed in the 17g durability but i have the 16's which i am stringing next.

Great arm-friendly compromiseThis string is very well-balanced. Among arm-friendly poly options, it is possibly the softest and yet it still has reasonably good control and tension maintenance, a rare combo (if not unique). I strongly recommend to anyone with tendon issues, both the 1.28 or 1.23 versions are good strings.

creamI have a history of shoulder problems so I played with full natural gut. Every time I tried a hybrid, after 2-3 weeks my shoulder would ache. I have used a gut in the mains and Cream in the crosses now for 8 months with no arm issues. I love the feel and extra spin it gives me.

Comfortable and SleekI had a sore elbow where I could feel pain when playing with firm poly strings. I didn't want to play with a gut or multi, so I tried Cream in a full bed and I didn't feel the pain anymore. Works great in a lighter racquet that has above average vibrations. The string reduces vibrations likely due to its elastomer mix and makes a great cross string due to its sleek and round profile along with its pocketing feel.

Good tension maintenance Bought several of these to try in different variations. Currently, I have it as a main with Glide crosses, and also as a full hoop strung at low tension (35). The latter lacks the pop of the former even at that low tension, and the spin is different, not bad with the full but much better with the Glide. Since the string is not actually poly, its definitely a different feel, and to me it has a harshness that is weird. No arm issues with it, but a different, heavy sound, and similar kind of feel. The tension maintenance has been good, so I suppose I'm getting what I wanted out of it -- sick of cutting out my poly and stringing again.

Comments: I've strung this up several times and had no weird durability issues. It is softer, but I don't remember why I switched away from it. I guess I'm on the forever hunt for the perfect strings. The thought that comes to mind is I made an unusual mistake while stringing. I pulled the string before I had it fully straightened and it knotted up outside the frame. As soon as I went to play, it snapped. So yeah, you've got to be careful with the 17g when stringing it. The soft poly I've grown to like is the Gamma Moto Soft 17.

Comments: My son who is a senior in highschool and a state level player started having arm problems with the Wilson Revolve poly. Cut that out right away to save his arm and his season. Loved some of my Tecnifibre NRG2, but that lasted literally about an hour as he hits hard with lots of topspin. Suggested to try the ISOSPEED Cream. He really really liked the string, but it broke twice in both of his Volkl racquets at weird spots, once on the outermost main up by the grommet hole, and once on the cross string by the grommet hole. I asked him if it broke on a hard off-center hit and he said no, so did some reading on the poly string shearing, and read to clamp in a few inches from the frame. Tried that on both sticks, and both broke again after about 60 to 90 minutes of play. One broke in the pocket which was fine, but the other broke at a different grommet hole on the mains. So, he has his tournament coming up and had to try something different as he can't have just random string breakage. Going to throw in some Gosen control to see how that works. Loved the Cream, but didn't like the weird durability.
