Overview

Kirschbaum Max Power provides big hitters with the control needed to achieve maximum acceleration. In other words, this string's low-powered response will allow players to take bigger cuts at the ball when adding pace and spin. The feel is quite firm and the stringbed response is extremely predictable. A great option for any player who likes attacking the ball without having to worry about over-hitting. Try this ultra-thin gauge for more spin than the 16 and 17 gauge versions.

Kirschbaum pre-stretches this string to improve tension maintenance and playability duration.

Comments: Strung at 57.7 pounds on the mains of my 2020 Yonex VCORE 95 with a monofilament synthetic gut at 57.7 pounds in the crosses. I am very impressed with this string. I thought it was going to be a very stiff string when I was working with it, but I was pleasantly surprise on how it played and how much feel it had after a few break in shots. For a round polyester this string had a good amount of spin and superb control, and great feel and touch. My favorite part of this string is the tension maintenance. After 15 days with practice and matches, the tension is currently reading 53.8 pounds. I have another VCORE 95 that I strung at the same tension on the same day with a different polyester in the mains but the same synthetic gut in the crosses, and its current tension is at 52.4 pounds and I only played with it once compared to my five matches that I had with the Kirschbaum Max Power 18. I don't think I have experienced that with any of the other polyesters I played with. Overall to me, and for my game this is a great string to hybrid with for decent spin and softer feel, great control, and unparalleled tension maintenance. My new go-to string.

Comments: I bought two packages each of Max Power 18 and Max Power Rough 18. Both strung at 50 pounds on a Head Gravity Pro. Max Power Rough was okay, but nothing spectacular. I cut it out and started stringing the regular Max Power also at 50 pounds and the string just snapped on the third main. I proceeded to string my other package without problems. I will say Max Power does everything well, but it didn't have that wow factor for me. Max Power was better than the Rough in every category and had the same spin in my opinion. I am returning the other package of Rough and going to try the package of Solinco Confidential I bought. If Confidential isn't the one, I'm going to stick with is Solinco Tour Bite or Tour Bite Soft, as I do have the wow factor with these strings. I'm a 4.5 level player.

Comments: I've played with various Kirschbaum strings for over a decade. Unfortunately, both of the sets that I purchased of the Max Power 18 gauge snapped during stringing. I've been stringing for over a decade, and have not had this experience with any other set of strings, Kirschbaum or other. The first time it happened I thought I was clamping too tight, but when it happened again on the second set I knew it had to either have been a bad batch of strings, or bad strings overall. I had purchased the Max Power Rough 18g on the same TW order, and they strung up without issue. I'd really like to give these a thorough testing, but given my experience I can't reasonably recommend these for purchase.
