Overview

Please note: Kirschbaum has changed the name to Pro Line Rough. Same string, different name

With Pro Line Rough Kirschbaum adds some texture to the surface of one of their most popular co- polys. Like the standard Pro Line II, this string's low-powered response allows big hitters to take huge cuts at the ball without fear of overhitting. This not only enables the player to swing faster in the service of pace and spin, but it also makes it easier to close out points with ambitious shots. Although this is a firm string, our playtesters loved the feel and reported zero problems with discomfort. Big swinging intermediate and advanced players looking for control and durability should give this string a serious look.

Pre-stretched for added tension maintenance.

Comments: I tried this string on a Pure Drive (300g) and I like it so far. It gives a lot of power, spin but it can be a bit hard to control on some points. I'd like to know the differences that this may have with Luxilon Adrenaline Rough 1.25.

Comments: Outstanding spin, control, feel and comfort. For the first time, I can swing my racquet freely and let the string grab the ball truly and fully. I don't wish this honeymoon period lasts more than 16 hours, instead I would be grateful if the performance drop doesn't affect precision and consistency. Spin, I can generate myself. Strung on a full bed on Prince Textreme 100P at 55 lbs.

Comments: I have tried this in a couple of racquets and am not impressed. I am a big Kirschbaum fan (Pro Line II, Evo and Touch) but this felt stiffer than advertised, lost tension very quickly and the rough didn't add any more bite to the ball than Pro Line II. Less spin than RPM in my opinion.

Comments: Excellent string for 1 game. I put this on Volkl Super G V1 Pro in the crosses and Cyclone in the mains at 55/57 lbs to dampen the power of the racquet. It felt crisp at the beginning, however, with heavy exchanges, this string started losing tension in the second set. My shots started to go long (maybe it was just me). In my opinion -- spin and feel are good, better than RPM and Cyclone at the beginning. RPM and Cyclone will last longer, but they don't have the crisp feel of this string at the beginning. Good for 3.5 players if you string with a full bed. Mix with a full poly for 4.0+. I'm a 3.5, but hit with a lot of 4.0 and 4.5 guys.

Comments: On paper this string seems to be like Tourna Big Hitter Blue,Babolat RPM Blast or maybe Cyclone from Volkl. If anybody can compare tothose in terms of power, spin and feel, that would be great.
