Comments: As the TW reviewers mentioned, 4G Soft is not soft. In my hands, it is firmer than the regular 4G at 48 pounds, but gives a nice firm response when the ball is struck hard. It seems softer on drop shots and volleys. The best attributes of the string are the control and predictable response. The string provides plenty of power by allowing you to deliver the fullest swing without fear of the ball sailing. The spin is less than other spin-friendly strings such as Confidential, Hyper-G, RPM Blast, etcetera, but is there if you have good technique. In short, this is a great string for the advanced player with good technique who can provide their own power and wants to be able to hit out at full throttle. I am a 4.5+ level player.

Comments: Luxilon 4G Soft is one of the best string available, using it in customized version of Yonex DR 98 Plus at 51 pounds, my son is also using this string in Babolat Pure Strike Tour 3rd Generation at 51 pounds. Great spin potential, great tension maintenance with excellent durability. I can't say it's a low powered string at all, the power level is well above average. Great control string if used in combination with the right racquet and not strung at very high tensions. I think this string will play best at tensions between 51-54 pounds depending on frame stiffness and string pattern. Highly recommended string.

Comments: Thanks to a suggestion from a TW playtester who uses the same frame as I do, this 4G Soft 1.25 is now my go-to poly. I strung this my RF 97 at 58 pounds in a full bed. The string lives up to its name because the comfort and control is noticeable in every shot, and I feel I can produce my own power as the description indicates. I highly recommend this string.

Comments: Great power return and spin production. It's absolutely softer than Luxilon 4g which adds more comfort to my arm since I string at high tensions. This is by far the longest lasting poly I've used with the least amount of tension loss. Great string for power return and control. I'm a 4.5 level player and hit with heavy topspin.

Comments: Great as a main string in a hybrid with natural gut. Never tried it as a full bed due to low power but with gut in the crosses, this setup really sings. Strung on a Dunlop 300G 105 18x20 with a 320 swingweight.

Comments: Wow! This is the best string I've put in my Yonex DR98. Granted my racquet has a 62 flex rating but I found this string to be soft as the name implies. In comparison to RPM Blast I find this string to be much more muted and dead and low powered. Blast is lively and crisp. I strung it up at 51 lbs and I honestly did not feel any jarring whatsoever like I did from RPM Blast. And I've had tennis elbow and bicep tendonitis in the past. So I know what stiff crisp lively strings like Blast can do to your tendons. Spin is phenomal, maybe not as heavy spin as Blast, but exceptional still. Control is off the charts good. I take big cuts at the ball and it does not sail. Great kick on serves and firm enough to block back heavy serves. I've played "soft" poly like Gosen Sidewinder and Tourna BHB7. Both of those are much more elastic and much more powerful. But those strings do not last long. Playability is terrible. 4G Soft is very consistent and controlled. I steered away from Luxilon in the past due to higher price, but the tension maintenance and durability and feel are worth as these strings have lasted me twice as long as any of the other strings mentioned. Buy this string if you take healthy cuts at the ball and want control, feel, and durability. If you're looking for power look elsewhere. I'm a 4.0 all around player. This is by far my favorite string!

Comments: This string improved my game and control. Thanks to more spin, I have been much better at attacking with my backhand. Before I switched to this string I used to play with RPM Blast 17. I like RPM a lot, my biggest concern was the playability duration, it goes dead in 2-3 hours. This string suits my style of game much better and gave me better control and better spin. I generate my own power so no concern there. Strung on a Wilson Pro Staff 95, 52 lbs mains, 48 lbs crosses. I'm 4.0 player.

Comments: I enjoyed demoing a racquet that had Luxilon 4G, but I wasn't sure which version of the string was used. When I bought a new racquet on Tennis Warehouse, I went out on a limb and bought Luxilon 4G Soft. This is by far the worst string I've ever used. Absolutely no feel on volleys whatsoever and you have to hit the be-Jesus out of your serve to get it over. I'm a 4.5 player who usually plays with a Synthetic Gut/Big Banger hybrid. I'm going back to it.

Comments: Love this string! Previously used regular 4G before but I switched to this string when it came out. Feels softer than original 4G and has slightly more power at the same tension. Easier on the arm and wrist than the regular version. Also feels like the playability is longer and I do not have to cut it out as frequently. Highly recommend giving it a try if you like the original version but want slightly more pop on your stokes. I am a 5.0 player.

Comments: For me, this was a horrible string and it didn't have the control it claims to have. The spin seemed about average. I feel like RPM Blast is better in all categories. I'm a 4.0 player.
