Overview

For 2020 Prince adds another chapter the Phantom Pro 100 (18x20)! Named the Phantom 100X 18x20, this racquet is ideal for the experienced player who craves the undeniable precision of a dense 18x20 string pattern. For this generation Prince thickens the beam a tad to give you a slightly firmer and more powerful response. But make no mistake, this update still captures that buttery flex and arm-friendly comfort of the previous generation. Like other members of the Phantom series, this stick has an Anti-Torsion System, which places Textreme and Twaron at 10 and 2 o'clock in the upper hoop and shaft. The upshot is a more powerful and stable hitting experience. This stick also packs a variable CTS Beam, which deploys a thin 18mm shaft for outstanding ball feedback. On groundstrokes, the 100X (18x20) feels comfortable and solid at impact. The thicker beam and more responsive upper hoop provide a little extra pop, which comes in handy when driving the ball through the court. Like the previous generation, the dense string pattern provides the kind of laser-like precision that inspires confidence. At net clean mechanics are rewarded with good depth, and the touch on drop volleys and sharp angles is outstanding. There is also enough precision on serve to target the corners. Ultimately, with this addition of a more powerful beam along with a more responsive upper hoop, the Phantom 100X (18x20) keeps getting better. This remains a great option for experienced players who want a stable weapon with very predictable results on full swings.

Another great flex racquet from Prince!I'm not in the camp of modern sticks with 70 plus RA ratings, as those tend to hurt my arm and are not fun to play. With a nice stiffness rating of 59, this Prince racquet won't do that, but can still provide some nice pop on the serve. I did notice a little flutter with off-center shots, but it has a nice sweet spot with good pocketing if you hit it. This is another great offering from Prince if you're on the lookout for a modern racquet that is very comfortable to play! Also, kudos to Tennis Warehouse for carrying Prince racquets that are still up there with the best in the world.

NiceStrung at 49 with Luxilon Element 130. Sharp and powerful hits. Took a little while to adjust into but worth it.

Groundies are awesome with this stickI grew up using the Prince Graphite - yup with the beam across the throat. I played with the Wilson Burn for the last 5 years which is 18x16 and 10 oz. I demoed this and it brought me back to the Prince Graphite days - groundies SO ACCURATE with forgiving sweet spot and LOTS of precision. I will add lead tape for more pop on the serve. But if it's control you want - control you will get. Highly recommend!

Comments: I currently own a few of the 18x20 frames because of the weight. I came off the POG 107 and 110s. The Phantom 18x20 is just a tad lighter, but enough to maneuver around. This was made for those fundamentally sound racquet swingers. Very arm-friendly stick. Prince got this one and I hope this 18x20 version stays on future lineups.

Comments: Soft, lower-powered frame. Directional control is excellent, volleys are very solid, and serving is surprisingly easy. Not a power and spin frame, it's an 18X20. However, you can generate topspin and sliced backhands are very nice. I'd say it is more suited to a moderate topspin player.

Comments: Agree with comment below, fantastic frame. Great directional control, arm-friendly, best I know of in this department, and a surprisingly large sweetspot for an 18x20. If you're a fan of heavy yet head light control frames, this one is a must try.

Comments: This racquet is just awesome. Just enough power, with loads of control. For a CTS frame I was pleasantly surprised with the solid feel at contact. It's really surprising that Prince doesn't have that many pros on the circuit endorsing them.
