Great feel, spin and easy on the armPrevious Set up: 2023 Pure Aero 100 square inches with lead at 3 and 9 o'clock. Solinco Hyper-G in a 17 gauge. Strung at 54 pounds. I loved the control, spin and power I got. But I did not like the stiffness and I think I can generate enough spin. Instead of the Hyper-G 17 Soft I decided to go with the Confidential in a 17 gauge strung at 54 pounds. The feel was buttery, and when I took cuts at the ball they did not sail out. Felt like I could control and pocket the ball at will. Overall I think I will stick with these instead of Hyper-G from now on.

Great performance, better tension maintenanceThis is my go-to string, as a full bed or with a multi-cross. As background, I take more traditional fuller strokes and use more flexible players’ racquets (e.g., Head Prestige Pro, Prince Phantom 93P, Babolat Pure Strike VS). This string is very predictable, generates exceptional spin, and maintains tension well. I’m a bigger hitter and get about eight-ten hours of play before they go dead. Most polys die out around five to six hours. The price is very nice, so that makes for a great value. They also look good in most racquets (doesn’t scream that you need attention) and are fine to string. The shape of the string is not too hard on the hands when stringing.

Great string, even better customer service!Gotta love tennis warehouse! Purchased two sets of Solinco Confidential without knowing there was a promo for buy two get one free. Contacted support the next day and they fixed my oversight right away. Excellent customer service! Will continue to purchase from them for their selection and customer service!

My favorite poly and go-to stringPoly strings can be addictive. If your game is built around spin, it takes things to a whole new level. However, most polys come with a trade-off, since they can be harsher on the body or they can lose tension quickly and go dead. Confidential in a 17 gauge is my favorite poly because it is a little softer than most high performance poly strings and it holds tension as well as any I've tried. For reference, many polys seem to go flat after six-eight hours of intense play. Confidential seems to get more like twice that. It is a sharper edged stiff string, and if you do your own stringing it is a little harder on the hands, so be careful. As reference, Luxilon 4G is my favorite poly to string with. Its shape and stiffness make it behave more like synthetic gut when installing it in a frame.

I'm amending my previous reviewAfter using this string for a year now , I have switched from a Hybrid set up (w/Head FXP) to a straight Solinco confidential 17g bed. I still absolutely love this string. I string my own racquets which allows me to experiment a lot with string tensions (the string is so reasonably priced I can afford to do so). For me (I'm 76 Yrs old, 3.5 USTA, playing on an old Head light weight Flexpoint 6 racquet) the sweet magic number for power and control is 40 lbs for the mains and 43 lbs for the crosses. Try these crazy low tensions with the Confidentials and you will be amazed and surprised.

Another awesome string from SolincoThis string surprised me in good way and it’s confidential from tension , control, spin and power. I used the tour bite and hyper-g but this string makes a difference. It’s set up in my Wilson Pro staff 6.0 85 @ 54 lbs. and so far it’s arm friendly.

Outstanding spin, good longevity & stiffnessI am a former ATP player (note: it has been 30 years since I played my last professional tournament). I was looking for a string that is stiff and holds tension most of its life (meaning before breaking) and has excellent spin potential. I tried over 30 strings from all relevant brands; it took me half a year to do this research playing with players that were ranked top 40 in the world at their prime. Solinco Confidential won with only a couple of strings that came close to it. So, in short: I selected Gauge 17 since it provided good longevity, excellent spin throughout its life, and a small loss of tension (it's great up until about 20 minutes before breaking). I usually break strings in 2-3 hours of play depending if I mostly practice (in which case they last closer to 2 hours) or play points. Confidential had a little bit longer longevity than most of the strings I’ve used before but still no longer than 3 hours of playing in general. As a reference I play with 2019 Pure Aero Tour, which I have customized to be 12.4 Oz with strings, 8 pts HL with strings, and 336 swingweight with strings as measured by Tennis Warehouse.

Perfect match for my Prince ATS Tour 98I am a high 4.0/mid 4.5 recreationally competitive player with an aggressive approach to the game. This string allows me to take big cuts at the ball from the baseline, as well as make touch shots such as volleys and drops. It has significant spin potential without sacrificing control, which is quite an impressive balance. The strings hold their tension for a good 12-16 hours of solid hitting (at NTRP 4.5 level). I use this on my (recently acquired) Prince ATS Tour 98, and this combination has been a match made in heaven. The other two strings that I hit with are the Head Lynx Tour 17g and Luxilon ALU Power 17g.

17g ConfidentialI really like this 17 gauge Solinco Confidential. I have played with Hyper G, Black Code, RPM Blast and numerous other poly‘s and configurations. The playability, control and feel of this string is better than all of those. Tension maintenance is very good also after the first couple hours of break-in. With solid strokes this string really pops!

Great as a hybrid string tooI just recently discovered this new string and love them. I was fearful that this polyester string would be too stiff for my arm and shoulder (I'm 75 now), but was very surprised at how playable and easy it was on the arm. The string is still very powerful and accurate with control. I use it as a hybrid combo string with the Head FXP 17g multifilament. I love the combo of Solinco Confidential 17g crosses @43 lbs and Head FXP 17g @65 lbs mains for good spin and power and good wear and accuracy. Try it.

Comments: I compare the Solinco Confidential to some other strings such as Black Code 4S, Tour Bite, and Wilson Revolve Spin. If you're looking for a string with lots of spin, great control, and good tension maintenance Solinco Confidential is the string for any NTRP player out there.

Comments: Great string. Creates great feel, very comfortable, and creates nice pocketing, strung at 52 pounds. I am very impressed. My go-to strings have been Volkl Cyclone and Wilson Revolve. But, I'm thinking this is now my go to string.

Comments: Didn't hate this string, but didn't love it. I preferred it over 16L Hyper-G, though. It is underpowered, but I thought it was more comfortable off the stringer than Hyper-G, and this is 17 gauge versus my played 16L Hyper-G. I played with it three hours and then gave up on it due to a lack of power. They settled in after about an hour, but still not all that comfortable. I found these comparable to Ytex Quadro Twist in feel, but significantly less powerful. I played the 17 gauge in full bed at 50 pounds in both mains and crosses. I would've gone lower, down to 48 or 46 pounds and would've felt fine. Played with them in VCORE 98 305. Luxilon ALU Power 16L at 50 pounds in crosses and mains is my usual setup.

Comments: I purchased Solinco Confidential 17 at TW with a hybrid setup main 56 pounds and the string broke within four hours twice on me. The Confidential string has a nice feel and spin, as others users described. Just ordered 16L to see if this will last.

Comments: Very good hitting string. Hyper-G is very soft, but provides a bit of power. This string doesn't quite have the same level of power, but has the same amount of bite and is a bit crisper off the stringbed. Tour Bite is my favorite of the line, but it's hard on the arm and elbow. This feels really connected to the ball and is a good middle ground between Hyper-G and Tour Bite.

Comments: I used 16 gauge Hyper-G for about a year and half and decided to buy a set of this just for the heck of it. This string is now my daily driver and I have even bought a reel. It has the same feel but with more bite, which I love. I would 10 out of 10 recommend.

Comments: The best Solinco string that is by far softer than Tour Bite and better than Hyper-G in my opinion. I put Solinco Confidential as my third best favorite, right behind Tour Bite which is my second favorite string. Overall I have tried both the 16L gauge and now the 17 gauge both in a hybrid set up. I would recommend this string to any intermediate to advance level NTRP player out there to actually give it a try.
