NopeStrung at 58 lbs in my Dunlop 300G. I'm old school: Continental grip, only multifilament strings in my box beam stick. These strings are soft and have good power, but lack the feel of either NXT (Wilson) or NRG (Technifibre). And then they snapped after a week and a half of play. That has not happened to me in many, many years.

Where's the love for Vanquish?Tried NXT, Xcel, X-One Biphase, Revelation, Sensation, Babolat Touch VS, Gamma Professional, Yonex 850, Rexis, many other soft strings. No arm problems, just like the feel. This is my favorite; never expected from Solinco. Tried in crosses with Tour Bite and Outlast in mains. Tour Bite is harsh, Outlast better, but prefer Vanquish alone in Ezone 98 and Vcore Pro 97. Power, spin, touch above all. Touch like gut, but much more spin. Started at 52 lbs, now 48, may be going lower. And it's cheap! Would buy a reel in 17 gauge, but I can't find it.

Excellent MultifilamentThis is my go to string when I'm not playing natural gut. Very playable and pretty durable for a multi. Downside: main strings slide a lot; unless you like fixing your mains between shots, this string may not be for you!

My New Multifilament.I will second the love on Solinco strings. I play exclusively with NRG and X-One Biphase strings but kind of prefer X-One Biphase. This string feels right between these two, firmer than NRG and a tad softer than X-One Biphase. Better ball pocket, bite and control than the Tecnifibre offering. Durability is the same at a more affordable price. Way to go Solinco. 5.5 , Teaching Pro, former college player , 45yo.

Comments: This summer I've switched to the Solinco Vanquish 17 gauge with my Volkl V-Feel 8 300. Previously, I've played with other multifilaments to include NRG2, NXT, AG 2000, Velocity MLT, and Sensation. I'm sticking with this string for solid playability. Strung up at 52 pounds. Excellent playability in comfort, power, and spin. On both my forehand and serve, I can actually hear the string snapback. I can feel the string and racquet pocket the ball. It's a winner and reasonably priced. Although, the strings started to fray after the second hour. That's okay, since I didn't have to break in the strings to get to a comfort level.

Comments: I am a stringer and a 4.5 level tennis player. I use this string in a hybrid with Solinco Hyper G 18g in the mains. I pre-stretch the Solinco Vanquish 17g. I string the Hyper G at a lower tension and the vanquish at a higher tension. It is the best of both worlds and I get excellent feel controlled power and spin. I play with an open pattern racket. Remember multifilament strings or not the most durable by nature but when you string yourself that's when you save money. I reuse the Hyper G three times and cut out the vanquish just before it breaks. My string jobs cost about $6 because I reuse the Hyper G. Believe it or not it plays awesome. When durability is you're number one concern you can compromise feel & control. Control/feel is number one at my level and up. I have become a much more consistent tennis player with this configuration. Hopefully this can help somebody out there good luck.

Comments: I replaced my Ezone DR98s strung with Gosen AK Control 17 with Solinco Vanquish 17. Strung at 52 lbs -- it is soft and arm friendly as expected. However it turned out to be more powerful than I anticipated. With my flatter mechanics, it is hard to keep the ball within baseline on forehands. Not a bad string but not suitable for my game. Heading back to Gosen.
