Overview

With HDMX, Tecnifibre delivers a seductive blend of comfort and controllable power to players across the ability spectrum.  Built with Hybrid 3D Technology, this string is designed to give you the expanded playability of a hybrid. It features three different fibers (polyester, Elastyl, and Thermostabyl) along with a High Density Polyurethane for a more controlled and spin-friendly response than that of a  traditional multifilament. According to our TW playtesters, this string has an extremely plush feel at impact, making it ideal for players in search of an arm-friendly string. Ultimately, HDMX is a great option for the comfort seeker or multifilament player who wants a little extra control, spin and durability. The above average tension maintenance is a very nice bonus!

Good Poly optionI agree with Mark that this string is on the middle. However, for certain people like me that are moving away from polys as we age (63), they work very good. Perhaps for some young players they could work before they are ready for Polys. Likes: Does not move, Low Power, Good Spin, Good Tension maintenance (compared to Polys) Dislikes: They do not last long compared to Polys when you hit hard. I strongly recommend using this strings on Mid-Lower 50s as they are stiffer than Multis and softer than Polys. On my Prince Warrior 100 and Phantom Pro 100 they work very well at 56 M / 54 C.

Comments: I strung this at 59 pounds thinking it would play like a monofilament, my regular string is Tecnifibre Multifeel, but it instantly gave me arm pain after five minutes of playing. It felt like a stiff full bed of polyester rather than any multifilament I've played with.

Comments: By what Tecnifibre says mixing the polyester with the multifilament into one, this product ends up in the middle of nowhere. Not crisp enough like the polyester main strings and at times they feel mushy. I will not try again after these strings break.

Comments: This is an interesting string. It's supposed to play like a hybrid, and I'll say that it feels like a hybrid, comfortable, yet lower-powered. However, don't expect this to give you as much spin as a traditional poly mains and multifilament or gut crosses hybrid. Imagine a low-powered X- One Biphase that lasts a little longer, moves around a little less, and loses tension just a little faster but not as fast a pure poly or a traditional hybrid. This could be a great option as an intro to hybrids or as your soft string if you want it to last longer than traditional multifilaments. One of my pet peeves is juniors getting into polyester strings before their body is ready, so juniors breaking strings frequently may want to give this a try before jumping into monofilaments. I'm a mid-30's all-courter 4.0 to 4.5 level player in Atlanta with a preference for doubles. I hit flat, aggressive balls on the rise when I can, but I rely on spin as my defense.

Comments: Terrible string. I am a long term HDX user who tried this HDMX string thinking it would be a similar enough replacement. It felt great for one week. By the second week it was close to breaking in the dead center, not from weird hits. By the third week the tension dropped to 43 pounds from 55 and the string was a goner.

Comments: Played well and comfortable right from the start. Not as much control as Multifeel at the same tension, but slightly more crisp and comfortable. Has a more springy feel than muted. Not as much bite on the ball as Multifeel as well. Generous sweetspot. If played with focused hits and high racquet head speed the string works well and is very comfortable. Hits without high racquet head speed I found to go flying on me as this is a fairly high powered string. Touch is pretty good. After 6 hours hitting these are close to breaking.Strung 53 pounds in my RF97A. I am a hard hitter with lots of spin and a one handed backhand.
