Overview

Introducing Ice Code, an advanced co-polymer monofilament from Tecnifibre. This string's ultra controlled response on full swings enables big hitters to attack the ball with their most powerful strokes. The result is a heavy combination of spin and power. With its durable construction and low-friction surface, Ice Code holds its playability longer than the average co-poly. Ultimately, this is a great option for experienced players who want spin, precision and durability. The fact that it lasts longer than many of its competitors is a nice bonus.

Hybrid Setup with Natural GutStrung this in the crosses at 54 pounds with Babolat VS Touch natural gut 16 in the mains at 58 pounds with Babolat string savers in the "Federer pattern." I've played 13 USTA matches along with and many hours of practice and friendly matches in the 9 weeks since and this setup still feels fresh...hardly any fray in the gut and this poly still hasn't died. I'm fairly amazed...it's exceeded all of my expectations as a hybrid string. Plenty of access to spin...compliments the gut very well. Very likely my go-to setup from now on. I wouldn't hesitate to try this in a full bed at a lower tension as well.

Comments: I am a strong 3.5 player with a semi-western forehand and two handed backhand. I have long strokes and hit fairly heavy topspin, especially on the forehand side. I installed this string in a Babolat Pure Aero Plus 2019 and compared it to Solinco Tour Bite. Both were strung at 52 pounds on the mains and 50 pounds on crosses. I found very nice feel and pocketing for a poly, but also higher than average power. I definitely hit more balls long with this setup than the reference Solinco strings. I would recommend using higher tension with this poly if coming from more traditional stiff poly strings, but I think it's a good option for someone moving to poly strings or looking for more comfort in a poly string.

Comments: Stiff the first hour but quickly opens up and produces a pocketable stringbed. Great control and some power especially in the sweetspot. Confident hitting string, might be worth trying in an 18 gauge for even more feel and spin, but I liked this string overall. I could really be on the gas hitting out with this string. Strung 55 at pounds in RF97A. I am a hard hitter with lots of spin and a one handed backhand.

Comments: I'm on my second stringing of Ice Code in a 16x19 racquet strung at about 54 pounds. It's similar to Luxilon Element with nice pocketing. It is more comfortable than the Red Code Wax but less durable and vulnerable to notching, like Element. After a few weeks, the playability deteriorated noticeably. In summary, Ice Code is a more affordable Luxilon Element equivalent.

Comments: Great string, easy access to power and spin, and easy on the arm too. I characterize it in between the Black Code and Red Code. I find it more accurate when I hit with spin and used it in both a hybrid and full bed setup. I prefer the 18 gauge which gave even more access to feel and spin.
