Overview

Introducing Force Grip, the only tennis-specific tool on the market designed to teach, strengthen, and rehabilitate the muscles and techniques used in tennis. Read our detailed review of the Force Grip here.

How to set up Force Grip:

  • Clip Force Grip to the fence with the attached carabiner.
  • With the same grip you use on any stroke, step forward until there is resistance on the band or until the band is straightened.
  • Swing through as you would normally on any swing, such as forehand, backhand, volley, slice, and so on.

The three main uses:

  • Teaching: help students achieve the correct stroke path, grip, and correct contact point for any stroke.
  • Rehabilitation: rehabilitate injuries sustained on and off the court.
  • Conditioning: develop both the strength and muscular endurance that are necessary for tennis.

Workout suggestions:

  • 50 consecutive reps of forehands, backhands, volleys, serves, and slices without rest.
  • Swing as many forehands as possible in a 15-second window. Rest and repeat for four rounds.
  • Repeat for all strokes, such as backhand, serve, slices, and volleys.

Weighted handle = tennis resistance trainingThe perfect resistance warmup tool! Great YouTube training video exercises. This works the finer extension muscles of a swing and serve well. The shape and weight of the grip is a big plus to the band. In past winters, I've tried setting up gym pulleys to simulate the same backhand motion while off the court. It was cumbersome to attach the hooks, and the pull resistance amount was never quite felt right. With this tool, I can clip it to any fence and quickly do some quick full reps before a match. This latest version even has a lengthened cord (Thiem's suggestion?) that works well for one-handers too. I also use it for the overhead and serve motion to stretch the shoulders. Once you try it, you'll never go back to the cheap plastic color bands again.

Before every session / matchI’ve been using this before every tennis session. I play lots of matches and it’s essential for me to warm up my lateral movement and get my racquet head speed tip top. I’ll be getting a few more as gifts to give out this holiday season.
