Overview

This blue version of Big Hitter offers a softer feel than the original yet still offers all the control power players need. A soft poly-poly ether material with aluminum fibers provides a softer feel than traditional polyester strings and provides improved comfort. We found excellent spin capability and excellent durability with this string. Offers good tension maintenance for a co-poly string.

  • Gauge: 16/1.30mm

Comments: Just hit with this string for first time today. Full bed at 55 lbs on my 2003 Pro Staff 95. It's not stiffer than other polys like BB Pro Hurricane, but sure is stiffer than syn gut or poly. Decent power (I'm a small guy but did not feel like it's lacking power). Spin is average for a poly, just the way I like because I hit flat. I'm thinking going hybrid when I string it up again because I'm not sure my aging body can take full bed poly for a long time.

Comments: I hybrid'd my Prestiges with this string. One with Ashaway Kevlar in the mains with this in the crosses at 57/55 pounds. It's not as lively and crisp as I hoped for nor as powerful, but it's soft and playable. Strung on the mains, I crossed it with Prince Synthetic gut at 56/56 lbs, it's lacking a bit in the spin and control department. If I did come across this string again, I'd string it a bit tighter. It's definitely soft for a poly which is good for those with tennis elbow, but I'll be looking for something more lively, crisp, and powerful. Going back to my usual set-up (AshKevlar/BBAluPwrRough) until my season ends. I still have a set of BH Silver to try out. Hopefully it'll be more to my liking.

Comments: Great string. I use Big Hitter Blue 16 in hybrid set-up in the mains @54lbs with Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16 in the crosses @57lbs (in both my K Six-One and BLX Tour 90's). 17 gauge mains weren't working in my open string pattern frames. I was truthfully looking for a 16 gauge poly main string that wouldn't move much with my syn gut crosses. I've certainly found that. I wasn't expecting such feel, control, and ball-pocketing. Spin is excellent, too. I suppose technique plays a bit part in that. I can understand a previous commenter not getting spin at higher tensions. This string shouldn't be strung at 60lbs in any "player" frame. You can reduce tension with this string and hit out with confidence (plus, you'll get more spin). I could go two pounds lower with ease. For those who have tension issues; try double pulling tension (on all mains, and at least the last few crosses).

Comments: This string is okay, lasts pretty long and holds tension fairly well too. Although it doesn't give you too much spin and it sprays fairly easy if you're a big hitter. Not recommended for top junior players, as it doesn't that much control either. It's a descent string if you want something cheap. For juniors I recommend to at least string at around 60 if not higherRate: 5/10

Comments: Top notch poly, super soft, lots of feel, one of the best for spin that I've tried. Had no durability issues as a 4.5 aggressive baseliner. Performance to value ratio is excellent! Wish TW sold it in REELS!!!!!

Comments: I liked this string a lot. I didn't get a lot of spin from it, but it was soft, and I liked that. I broke the string after about a month.

Comments: I wish they would produce this string in 16L but all I have to say is WOW! I was truly impressed with the feel and spin. The the price is right. I am 5.5 player and used Luxilon alu power for the longest time. I have found my new string!

Comments: I tried to string this on my racket at 55, and it broke twice the string just snapped rip off.
From:Andrew, Cupertino, CA, USA. 2/09

Comments: This string feels good at the first time, but the tension only last about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, it totally got loose.

Comments: Excellent string at a great price. Provides a very soft feel for a poly but still lots of control. Loses a little bit of tension till the end of the first couple of hours of hitting, and then stays as is. Easy to produce spin on serves and provides a predictable response on flat shots. Try it in a hybrid with the Gosen ProTuff being the mains.
