Overview

The Tourna Quasi-Gut provides a super soft and forgiving stringbed. Tourna claims this multi-filament string, with it's PU infused microfibers offers a natural gut-like feel and playability. We found this string to be comfortable and great on the arm.

More like Quasi-Good55 lbs on a Head 360+ Instinct. Plays dead, plasticky, and with little spin, like a string has broken. Not even close to Head Velocity MLT. Even some cheaper synthetic guts play better. What a letdown.

Arm friendly, economical and durableArm friendly, economical and durable. I am using 16 gauge in a Wilson Pro Staff strung at 53 lbs tension. If you want more control, you can go 55. Playing advance 3.5/4.0 rating game. Very good feel on power shots and returns. All court feel is good. It's been more than 6 weeks, playing 3 days in week, still using it.

Arm friendlyA very under rated string that plays like gut but is certainly less expensive and last an incredibly long time. Good power, control, and playability. Plays like Head Velocity but a little softer. Great multifilament.

Comments: Had to find a multifilament to cure my tennis elbow. This string outlasts all the competition multifilaments. The feel is fantastic and the control is excellent. I've been playing at least eight hours of training a week, plus matchplay on the weekend. The Quasi Gut holds the tension really well I usually make it through the week with two racquets. My elbow has recovered and I will stay with this string. The quality of this string and the price is just unbeatable. I string 55 to 57 pounds with a 16x19 racquet. If you do need an alternative to the washboard polyester strings go with Quasi Gut.

Comments: If you like the dead, muted, low powered feel of a co-poly, but want an extremely arm friendly version this is the string to get. Although you dont get the same spin of a co-poly, the trade off is an extremely soft and comfortable multifilament string.

Comments: These string up firm. Good tension maintenance, control and durability. But not much feel, comfort or spin. So many of the soft polys have leap-frogged this one in every category except tension maintenance. I'd take Prince Synthetic Gut with duraflex over this string overall.

Comments: I read on some forum that Quasi Gut is similar to Tecnifibre NRG, so I gave it a try. Hugely disappointed. It is similar to NRG in what aspect? To start off, it's incredibly stiff for a multi, so stiff that it hurts my wrist on impact. Secondly, the power level is no where near, nor is the feel. I guess Quasi Gut gives you good control for a multi, but that's about all. Tension maintenance is horrible for a multi as well. I guess you get what you paid for? It's relatively cheap but it's a lot of money to ask for a pack of crap strings. I prefer soft polys over this for sure.

Comments: This is my second feedback on this string after the comment I made on 8/12. It's still my favorite string for the natural gut-like playability. I found the longevity to be excellent. One thing I don't like about this string is the fact that it's so easily crushed (or bruised) upon clamping during stringing, as it's virtually impossible to clamp it without leaving bruise marks. Most natural gut brands I've used are in the same way too. So, I'm not sure what to make out of it. It doesn't seem to affect the way it plays, though. I am going to continue using it for now, because there's nothing like it out there.

Comments: Fantastic! Best kept secret. All of the positive reports are true. You will experience almost every aspect of the natural gut at the fraction of the cost. If you get the reel (which costs about $6.25/40ft-set), it's at 1/3 the price of Gamma Professional. Easy to string. 3 hours of hard hitting left minimal notches on the mains. The initial tension loss is fairly high, therefore you should set the tension somewhat higher than normal. Even after loss of tension, it plays very well. I am going to post another feedback after testing the durability. I've already purchased a reel. Would recommend to anyone.

Comments: This definitely plays soft. It's a good string. Currently use a hybrid setup with this in the crosses. Broke after 3 matches. Although the feel and pocketing are excellent, I'm going back to a synthetic gut in the crosses. This is more suitable for those that hit flat or generate slower racquet head speeds.

Comments: Best string compared 2 NXT, NRG and u name it out of those other soft strings. More pop andalive. Price is perfect.

Comments: The Tourna Quasi-Gut 16 is an excellent string that offers better feel andplayability than premium multis like NXT or Gamma Pro. It's very easy to string, and allprevious comments about tension maintenance are true. The ball pocketing aspects of thisstring are fantastic, and so far I have a week of heavy play on these strings and no signs offraying. I highly recommend this string.

Comments: I just love this string. I changed from the Prince Softflex to Tourna Quasi Gut about 5 months ago. It gives me great feel off ground strokes (you really know if you hit the ball well at impact). I use it by itself and as a hybrid in the crosses with a poly in the mains. At the net it really it gives you awesome feel to put touch on the ball or put the volley away.

Comments: This is a comfortable string, but extremely lively. I like the Irridated Multi much better. Better control & feel. This string is too springy.
From:Basil. 5/11

Comments: I have used this string for about two months now in various hybrid setups with the Tourna Poly Big Hitter. I've used Quasi gut in the mains with Big Hitter in the crosses and vice versa. Overall, the Quasi Gut plays a lot like natural gut with good ball pocketing and excellent power. The only complaint I have with it is if you string it at higher tensions (i.e. >62 lbs.), it will not hold its tension well and seems to get loose fairly quickly. Overall, a good string at at good price.

Comments: Instant classic. Long time NXT user, but this string is much livelier with better feel and ultimately touch. Tons of control. Much more spin than NXT. Tension maintenance so far is top notch. Strings don't move around a lot. Only open question is how long this string will last.Former nationally ranked junior, college and challenger tour player.
