Searching for a high quality, tour tested, all-court paddle with a lean towards controllable power? This is the Volair Mach 1 Forza 16! Piloted by one the most gifted players on the PPA and MLP Tour Julian Arnold helped test and develop this paddle from day one. Power is awarded to the player from the Mach 1 Forza’s 8.2 oz. average weight, 16.5 in. overall length, with the 16mm. Polypropylene Core being a little less lively than the 14mm. model. In addition, Volair's switch to a Thermoformed Uni-Body construction not only improves the Forza’s durability, but also refines the return of energy, providing long-term tip-to-grip performance. Foam-Injected edge walls firm up the paddle’s face, enhancing sweet spot size, paddle stability, and the overall “Andiamo!” of the Mach 1 Forza. Scalpel like precision, and easy access to spin, is on tap with a combined effort from the T700 Raw Carbon Fiber face and 16mm. core. The Mach I Forza's 5.5 in. handle length furthers control, making points easier to dictate and finish on your terms, using one, or two hands, with a 4.125 in. grip size being suitable for most players.

Crushed CoreThis paddle has a crushed core which is associated with the "delamination" of the face. It is a common problem with thermoformed paddles and has not been resolved despite explanations from the manufacturers to the contrary. This tool does not allow me to post a photo, but the buckled core goes all the way through the handle, not only the face. This points to a manufacturing defect that is present when you receive the paddle. It plays okay for a while, maybe even forever, but oftentimes this underlying defect evolves into a symptom that you can feel, making the paddle unplayable. That is what happened to mine. The lifestyle brand paddles, like Volair, have very short warranty windows.

Failed QuicklyThe paddle started to sound different on hard hits. Progressively got worse. I've had it around a hundred days or so. I'm a two times a week player. I had to retire the paddle. The warranty is very poor...only 90 days. So it's 180 bucks for a paddle that lasts a couple months. I guess Andiamo is just the start of the sentence. It's "Let's Go" buy another paddle. Or maybe it's "Let's Go" throw our money down the drain.

All around great paddle!Coming from a gen 1 graphite face paddle to the Forza has definitely upped my game! This paddle has all of the latest paddle technology. Faster drives and excellent control in the soft game! Over all I am pleased with the performance of the Forza!
