Crisp, Lively with good ElasticityI play with a full bed of gut. Serve and volleyer, one-handed backhand with a biting slice, and a flat, driving forehand. VS is soft and pockets well, but this Volkl has more power, bite, and control. Very penetrating volleys and the strings do so much of the work.

Volkl V1 and V2.I’ve played many years and have limited myself to doubles only the last 5 years. The Volkl V1and V2 are recent purchases The correct grip and real gut strings make this 115 sq.inch 9.5 oz racquet very maneuverable and quick, and forgiving. I had it strung at 58 lbs. to give maximum control. It helps me control over hitting from my excitement and the ball seems to stay on the strings longer. No trampolining effect with the gut so far. It’s taken 5 years off my game and elevated me .5 to 1 level up on ratings. Great serving, volleying, overhead, and touch control. Average on ground strokes except more topspin.

Nice but started disintegrating too soonI played with it for a few weeks and the fibers started coming off the string, I think it was too soon. I left the racquet in the car trunk under the sun so maybe the heat was a factor. Otherwise good strings, feels very natural indeed.

Good Natural GutThis string is fairly stiff for a natural gut and does take a bit of break in. It holds tension really well, and is very easy to string. I prefer Klip Legend, but I buy this when Klip is out of stock. I use a full bed of gut and rarely break strings, so this Volkl gut lasts a really long time for me.

Decent Natural Gut OptionI strung VS in a few racquets in recent times. I got this stuff to do a comparison. It isn't bad, but it doesn't have the control or pop of the VS, at least in my experience. That doesn't mean someone else would have the same result. I think it's probably a cost effective alternative to VS. It just didn't work out that well for me.

Comments: I just picked up a pack of this because I am now an adult where I work and am able to purchase things like this. Opening the package has a very weird smell, almost as if I had opened a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Really strong smell, but I thought that was natural because of it being natural gut. I almost thought I had gotten scammed because the strings were yellow and they felt like a poly. It was just the coating on the natural gut which made it so, thank goodness. Stringing it was just fine, surprisingly I didn't fray the string at all. I strung it at 54 pounds on the mains, and 51 pounds poly on the crosses. Immediately playing afterwards, the balls were feeling great. It's currently only 55 Degrees Fahrenheit in Minnesota, but balls were zooming through the court. I was able to feel a ton of bite, and get a lot of spin. My arm was not feeling any resistance or any kind of stiffness. It was very easy on the arm. Power was being generating on it's own with these strings and I felt very comfortable going for shots.

Comments: I mixed this with Luxilon 4g at 58 lbs (gut in mains) and it only lasted two hours. I can typically get 6 hours or more from a set of Wilson Natural Gut 17.

Comments: Ten hours (so far) of unbelievable power, control, and comfort. Lots of fraying in the sweetspot but still going strong.

Comments: To me this string was very similar to Babolat VS Team in terms of quality. It holds tension just as well and couldn't tell the difference in feel. String color was actually golden, matching perfectly with the Wilson BLX Six-one tour 90 gold. Costs less than VS Team, giving me another reason to pick up this string again.

Comments: Strings easy/plays great and the price is right.

Comments: A true crisp gut very similar to klip legend. This string holds tension really well, and it is very easy to string. Good bite for spin. There is also a hybrid available, which I liked, but wanted more feel
