Overview

Introducing Volkl V-Square! With its surgical precision, this co-polyester monofilament will give you the confidence to attack the ball with your most powerful strokes. Offering a slightly softer feel than Volkl Cyclone, this is a great option for the player who wants a more comfortable co-poly. It's also a spin monster thanks to its four sharp edges and slippery surface (think bite & snap back). Ultimately, this is an obvious choice for the player who wants a durable co-poly that offers mindless targeting on full cuts. The great feel is a nice bonus and the spin-potential is off the charts.

Recommended for hybridsI string my own racquets and I experiment a lot with various strings. My racquet is the Volkl C10 Pro. I use V-Square in an 18 gauge in the mains at 52 lbs with Wilson Sensation Plus 17 at 57 lbs in the crosses. I get a responsive and comfortable bed this way. I don't care about colors, so it was green before and is now lava.

Disappointed, but not badI strung this at 50lbs mains and 48lbs crosses and it was okay. Main problems were that the strings were sometimes unpredictable and the strings always moved out of place. Except for that, the string spins pretty good because of its shape. I’d say it will be ok in the mains of a hybrid.

Great Overall StringThis string not only retains tension for a longer period than expected, but is also spin oriented and most importantly, arm friendly. String breakage and tension lost was a nagging issue until these strings became a favorite among friends with the same racquet. Highly recommend. An excellent stringV-square 18g is a great string in every way. Great spin, good power, durable, and gives good touch & feel as well. Tension has a slight drop off after 2 hours of hitting then it holds the tension for the life of the string.

Great stringThis string has great bite. I was using the 19 gauge and it broke pretty quick in my pure aero but provided great spin. Going to 18 gauge for a bit longer lasting. But I like the thin string for better spin and pocketing. And if you are like me and have a stringing machine then its worth it for the thin string because it is not that expensive. This string has soo much bite it will wear down the skin on your fingertips stringing a racquet.

Great SpinI've been using this string for several years now and always been impressed by the amount spin it generates. Power and control are up there too! Recently I've been trying it as a hybrid which also is playing great. Well worth the price.

Power and controlThe Volkl V-Square 1.20g is a great string for an aggressive player. It offers good power and an abundance of spin to control that power. Whether its a kick serve or topspin ground stroke or knifing a backhand, the V-Square will not disappoint. The tension maintenance is also good, after a slight drop initially it retains its tension for the life of the string. I use it at 52lbs, and it plays really well.

Controllable spin and powerI string for a number of USTA players out of my garage since I normally can get a racquet back to them in just a few hours if necessary for a match. Have used V Square in everything from 16-19 gauge and have had nothing but positive comments from players so far. Use it myself in 18 gauge and they play consistently until they just about reach the end of their usable life. Can literally tell folks before starting a match if the string will break before we finish. Tension stability is ok for a poly so don't expect them to last forever. Your joints and game will appreciate you for regularly restringing.

Comments: This string offers exceptional spin. The durability is low. I broke both half sets within two hours. The high end ball bite wears off with about 1 hour as the sharp edges become dull. The spin is still excellent, but there is a noticeable drop off after 1 hour with my style of play, a little over halfway through the life of the string. I love the powerful response combined with loads of spin. The free pace allows striking the ball at an even steeper angle for even more spin. I string as a hobby and do not mind the cost, so I am happy with this string in spite of the low durability, and bought more. If you pay someone else to string your racquets and hit extremely heavy balls, this string will not be durable enough for you. I can imagine gentler hitters doing just fine with durability. I use midsize frames, so if you have a larger headsize, the extra power might be more of an issue. If you like spin, I would recommend giving this string a try, even just for a fun experience to see how crazy the spin can get when freshly strung. I don't recommend pairing with another square string as they do not slide well over each other. Hybrid with cyclone, rpm blast, or a round poly to avoid this issue.

Comments: Strung my C10 Pro's with this and the other with Cyclone in same gauge. There was no snapback with the V-Square and I was constantly straightening strings. I didn't notice any upside to this over Cyclone, so I will stick with the Cyclone.

Comments: I love the spin I am getting from this string. However, I broke the string after playing five times with it. Thus, I will get the 17 gauge next time.

Comments: Nice amount of spin and power, this string is very comparable to a lot of other poly strings I have played with. However, the texture of the string cuts into itself and I broke a string after only playing with them for 5 or 6 times and still had plenty of tension remaining. Very disappointing. I am a 4.0 player that hits with a lot of topspin.

Comments: So I normally play with Hyper-G 18g and decided to give this one a try and I prefer the Hyper-G more because it gives me a lot more control. I am a 4.5 player hitting with a lot of topspin and the Volkl gives me just a bit too much power, I can't really swing at anything like I can with the Hyper-G. So if you want a really good amount of power with some good spin this is the string for you.
