Overview

Introducing the thinnest version of Volkl V-Square! With its surgical precision, this 1.10mm co-polyester monofilament will give you the confidence to attack the ball with your most powerful strokes. Offering a slightly softer feel than Volkl Cyclone, this is a great option for the player who wants a more comfortable co-poly. It's also a spin monster thanks to its four sharp edges and slippery surface (think bite & snap back). Ultimately, this is an obvious choice for the player who wants a durable co-poly that offers mindless targeting on full cuts. The great feel is a nice bonus and the spin-potential is off the charts.

Try this thin 1.10 version for MAXIMUM bite.

Nice feel, horrible durabilityThis string had about 10-15% more feel, spin and power than the Cyclone 19 so I was ecstatic until.... it popped only after about 35% of the time the Cyclone lasts, couldn't believe it. It's too bad, otherwise it's really nice. Might try this on the crosses next with the Cyclone on mains, might be the best combo, but still will have to try the V-Star and V-Torque and maybe do a video review of all three to see what can be the greatest 19g combo. These type of strings really make it obvious how many do not know about strings... i.e., 3.5 players using 17g poly and 16g multi, horrible. - Jay (5.0 teaching pro)

Absolute SPIN monsterHave used many shaped polys over the past 4 years but this has become my go to favorite! Play a bunch of USTA matches in a fairly windy region of the country (coastal SC) and opponent's jaws drop as fast as my deep topspin returns of service. Gentle to the joints on top of it all to boot!! Great price to performance levels.

Comments: More spin and feel than Volkl Cyclone 19g. A little stiffer in the beginning, but tension holds well. It does feel like Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable. I popped it after 2 or 3 sets of doubles. For a reel, it's a little more expensive than Volkl Cyclone and I am pretty sure my tennis isn't a whole lot better because of V-square. I highly recommend both the Cyclone and V-square 19gs. In comparison, I tried Solinco Hyper-G 20g and it was really horrible.

Comments: I love this string in my hybrid setup with Volkl natural gut 16g in the mains and V-Square 19g in the crosses. This allows the natural gut to slide easily on the smooth flat surface of the V-Square increasing spin and also allows the natural gut to last a bit longer as it doesn't get all cut up on a sharp edge of a 6, or star sided co-poly. When using natural gut for the mains I like to have an extremely grippy poly in the crosses as well to maximize spin, and nothing is better than V-Square for spin as the square shape cuts deep into balls. Very satisfied. This will be my go to set up moving forward. I use the Volkl Power Bridge Mid, but thinking of switching to the new Prince Phantom 93P 14x18. I am a 3.5-4.0 level player that loves to serve and volley.
