Overview

Introducing Weiss CANNON Fire Stroke! This four sided co-poly puts a tight grip on the ball. The feel is firm without being uncomfortable, and the low power level will enable you to ratchet up the stroke speed when going for extra pace and spin. The thin 1.20mm gauge is loaded with bite. Intermediate and advanced players who want an extremely spin-friendly string should give this co-poly a serious look. Did we mention the spin?

Comments: This is a really great all-around polyester. It's no less comfortable than Hyper-G or Weiss Canon Ultra Cable or Silver String. It has slightly less bite than Ultra Cable, but holds tension a little longer. I'd say it's pretty comparable to Solinco's Hyper-G. Both are excellent.

Comments: This is an awesome string with great spin, good power for a poly and good tension maintenance. The square profile provides a great sliding surface for the mains which produces more spin and reduces friction, so when used as a cross it doesn't saw through the mains as fast as other strings.

Comments: I've been playing with Ultra Cable for a while, but the weight of it increases the swingweight too much in certain racquets. I wanted to see if this was Ultra Cable's little brother, given that it too is square. This is not as sharp as Ultra Cable and does not provide as much spin; however, Fire Stroke provides more control. Both are soft on the arm in my opinion, and longevity is good on both, but I string it in the high 50's. Not sure why TW has not added this string to the comparison tool, but would love to see the stats because it is my new favorite. 4.0 all court player.

Comments: I like Weiss Cannon Strings. I like the spin and feel when they are strung fresh, but they lose touch/feel after 5-6 hours of play.

Comments: Excited to try these. I play with Solinco Hyper-G and thought these strings would play similarly. They do with the exception of string maintenance. After one hour of play, it feels like a lot of tension was lost. I will give it some more hours of play and see what happens.
