Overview

Revolve Spin is a shaped variation of Wilson’s Revolve co-poly. With its low powered response, this string will keep your biggest swings inside the lines. Not only does Revolve Spin have 5 sharp edges for grabbing hold of the ball it is made with a special low-friction UHMW material, allowing the strings to snap the ball off the strings with extra force (see big spin). This is a very solid option for intermediate and advanced players looking to attack the ball. Did we mention the spin?

This gauge is slightly thinner than the 16g version for added spin and feel.

  • Gauge: 17/1.25mm
  • Length: 40ft/12.2m
  • Composition: Co-polyester (Crosslink Ester Polymer w/low-friction UHMW material)
  • Color: Green, Black

A hidden gem?I only have about 90 minutes with these strings and will update my review later but I am really loving these strings. I've been on a search for strings for many many months and have notes on most of them and this is now moved to the top of my list. I struggled with some arm issues earlier this year possibly due to ALU power, and didn't notice anything after playing this last time with these strings. These somehow feel both comfortable and crisp, with good spin great feel and plenty of control. I'm reminded of Yonex Poly Tour Pro but I am not one of the string gurus around here so take that with a grain of salt. I play a hard-hitting attacking style, and I'm using the current version 13 of the Pro Staff 97.

Comments: These are nice, comfortable poly strings. I mostly used these in a poly/multi hybrid, but never had any arm discomfort as I do with other polyester strings. The highlight is the control for me- the spin is comparable, but not as good as some other string, i.e. Hyper-G. I find it retains more consistent playability and is far more comfortable than Hyper-G (even noticeably more comfortable than Hyper-G, which I start to feel once it goes dead). I prefer a gut/poly hybrid with the original Revolve, but I would recommend this to someone who wanted a more comfortable poly string that is affordable with a good playability duration. Eventually the sides wear down and it is more similar to the original revolve, which is also a great string.

Comments: I think I liked the feel of this string at 52 pounds better than at 50 pounds. I was still able to generate incredible power, but have better control. As an older player, it's a gift to still be able to hit my strokes as well or better than I was doing in my younger days.

Comments: I am using the Wilson Blade 104 v7 and strung it with this green version at 50 pounds full bed. I really liked the way it felt on all strokes. I am going to up the tension to 52 pounds and see how it plays.

Comments: I strung my Wilson Clash 100L with the green color at 48 pounds, full bed. I was very happy with the feel and power this string has. It was very comfortable to hit with.

Comments: Switched to Revolve Spin 17 from the regular Revolve. Noticed a big difference in playability. The Revolve Spin provided extra spin to my shots which kept more of my balls in play. Felt like I could take a big swing without fearing the ball would go long. I really liked the original Revolve 17 but I like the spin version even more!

Comments: More spin than the previous version, but I find them a little more hard on the arm and much less durable. I have 2 Yonex DR 98 and I always use Wilson Revolve since my old frame (Wilson Juice Pro 96) and I used to hace 3 of those frames, always strung my old frames at 56 pounds and play 3-4 days a week. The durability and tension hold was awesome (2-3 months). When I switch to the DR 98 was a bit hard because of the huge difference on string pattern and swingweigth but lead tape here and there resolve that problem, like my old frame I putted Wilson Revolve 16 on the Yonex at 55 pounds and it was a dream to play with it, durability was like my old frame (2-3 months). Then a month ago I saw the new version the Wilson Revolve Spin 16 and because I play with a lot of spin I ordered a few sets and like I said before they and harder to the arm like 5% harder, they have 5% to 15% more spin, but they last my only (1 month and a half) they where dead and all over the place.

Comments: My first impression of this new Revolve Spin is the feel which is much better than the original Revolve. The low friction material which allows the string to snap back with extra force is incredible! Also, the 5 grippy sharp edges gave me some excellent ball bite and huge spin as well. Overall, I recommend anyone to give this new Revolve Spin a try.
