JOOLA Generation 3 Paddles
All of JOOLA's Generation 3 paddles feature the same build and technologies, such as the core and surface materials, uni-body construction, foam injected edge walls, etc. Although the differences on paper may appear to be slight, those differences are substantial enough to distinguish each paddle from the other.
- Perseus 3: All-court singles or doubles paddle with room for a two-handed backhand. Ideal for rolling and/or speeding up volleys.
- Magnus 3: The Magnus 3 is very similar to the Perseus 3 in terms of overall length and width, so the Magnus 3 is all-court capable as well. The difference is the Magnus' larger face and shorter handle, which makes it slightly more powerful than the Perseus 3.
- Scorpeus 3: The more squared off head shape of the Scorpeus 3 helps maximize core-based power, and its shorter overall length keeps the Scorpeus 3's sweetspot closer to the hand, which affords a very connected feel to the ball.
- Hyperion 3: All-court paddle with room for a two-handed backhand. It is ideal for rolling and/or speeding up volleys. With the exception of the Aero-Curve design, which rounds the tip edge of the paddle instead of squaring it off, it is the same as the Perseus 3.

Carbon Framed Design
JOOLA's brief and official description for the construction of its Carbon Framed Design is: Fully encased carbon frame for increased strength and durability. In addition, after playing with the Scorpeus, Perseus and the Hyperion C2, our playtesters felt the Carbon Framed Design also contributed to paddle stability, energy return (power) and vibration control (comfort).
Paddle Surfaces
While all JOOLA paddles utilize a polymer honeycomb core, the three-letter acronym describes the various types of paddle surfaces. The first letter (C or F) denotes carbon fiber or fiberglass composition respectively. The second and third letters notate the type of texture.
- Charged Carbon Surface: A bonding treatment that strengthens the paddle surface and provides a crisp feel, along with extra energy return.
- Carbon Friction Surface (CFS): The base layer of JOOLA's premium carbon fiber surface, made of textured Carbon-Flex5, which is durable and offers predictable performance plus superb feel.
- Carbon Grip Surface (CGS): Carbon fiber surface composed of a durable Carbon-Flex3 textured material that grips the ball for long-lasting and easy access to spin.
- Carbon Drive Surface (CDS): Available with the Seneca CDS 16, this is a carbon dominate hybrid surface material that is durable, spin friendly and slightly increases power off the face of the paddle.
Core Materials
Propulsion Core
JOOLA's patent pending core material is attentive to the level of paddle swing speed applied to the ball. The Propulsion Core provides the ever elusive "cake and eat it too" level of performance. In other words, the Propulsion Core is designed to deliver additional power on offensive shots and complete obedience when soft hands are required.

Reactive Core
JOOLA's specifically tuned polypropylene honeycomb core aims to provide a consistent and predictable rebound across the entire paddle face. The comfort-oriented Reactive Core also nominally contributes to overall power and filters out vibration without diminishing feel.

Response Core
A polypropylene honeycomb core that compresses for feel while the cell shape and materials offer great durability and paddle lifespan.

Hyperfoam Edge Wall is a game-changer. JOOLA's specialized foam-injected edge adds weight and stability to increase the size of sweetspot. This provides a comfortable, solid feel and consistent rebound during play around the entire surface.

Aero-Curve Design
Aero-Curve Design is JOOLA's unique paddle shape that creates less drag and increases swing speed by rounding the top edge of the paddles.

Gradient Edge Shield
JOOLA's Gradient Edge Shield refers to its new edge guard around the perimeter of the core. This functions to both protect the paddle from court impacts and provide a distinctive, and identifiable color fade.

JOOLA Ridge-Grip
