Stable, supportive and durable, without sacrificing comfort.

Yonex's premier shoe for stability, and durability, the Power Cushion Eclipsion 4, is designed to withstand the most aggressive movements on the court, while maintaining the comfort needed for the long grinding matches. Endorsed on the pro tour by Stan Wawrinka, this shoe puts a premium on support and stability, and will help you push off with maximum force when tracking down the next ball. The signature Power Cushion+ supplies exceptional shock absorption and rebound, while the Power Graphite Sheet in the mid-foot maximizes lateral stability, while keeping the weight down. A multi-directional herringbone outsole is made from the Endurance Rubber II compound for traction, and high wear resistance.
  • Upper: Double Russel ultra fine mesh that is extremely lightweight, and allows for more air exchange. Durable Skin has higher wear resistance while maintaining comfort and support. Heel Stabilizer located at the rear of the shoe, for added stability and support when landing.
  • Midsole: Power Cushion+ for shock absorption, and repulsion. 3D Power Graphite Drive Sheet inserted in the middle portion of the midsole to help maximize lateral stability and to help propel you forward while sprinting. Feather Bounce Foam, ultra light weight foam for added bounce.
  • Outsole: Roundsole ensures smooth movements, and the transfer of maximum energy. Heel Contact Roundsole for smoother landings, and smooth heel to toe transitioning. Endurance Rubber II compound in a modified herringbone pattern, dense rubber in high wear areas, and more open tread on lateral edge to help with sliding.
  • Color: Navy Blue

Could Use More CushioningThis shoe felt stable and well fitted. That said, after wearing them for about an hour I found my feet started to ache a bit. This continued on to the court. I feel Yonex would have a solid shoe here if they could make the midsole a bit more cushioned.

Great shoes, but the top isThe shoes are dynamic and well-cushioned, but the top part can put pressure on the feet. It may require a couple of weeks of break-in to feel comfortable.

Perfect FitThe shoe is true to size and it is stable. I'm a 3.5 player, I'm able to start and stop comfortably on the court. There is no heel slippage.

Move over Gel Res!..Just got a pair earlier today and in a word, ‘Wow'! This update to one of my most recent favorite court shoes, the Eclipsion 3, really hit the mark for me. The forefoot has a touch more width vs the 3. The ventilation looks to be significantly improved with more prominent perforations both atop and along both sides of the shoe. Also appreciated is the more pronounced arch shape/support wc I need given my flatter foot shape. Yonex also lightened the shoe a little w/o sacrificing the support this shoe is best known for. Cushioning is on point, comfortable without feeling spongy/mushy. Supportive w/o feeling like a brick. The closest comparison would be the ASICS Gel Res 8. Both rock solid & stable. That said, The Eclipsion 4's overtakes the Gel Res in a couple key areas, ventilation, better outersole flexibility, & overall fitment and comfort. The Yonex just feels overall like a less demanding shoe than its aforementioned competitor. I would also draw on the Adidas Barricade and Nike Vapor Cage 4 in this mix with Yonex winning out overall amongst them. I'd still recommend a day or 2 of casual break-in wear prior to heading to the courts. Overall fit is true to size, medium width so no need to 2nd guess. This sleeper of a shoe may soon lose its ‘under the radar' card. So, if you're looking for a solid, stable, & durable performance shoe, not have to wait for ASICS to get their act together, with added ventilation & overall comfort/fitment, you'd be well served to add the Eclipsion 4's to your short list.
