Yonex's premium shoe for stability and durability adds even more comfort and power as you move around the court.

Yonex's premium offering for stability and durability, the Power Cushion Eclipsion 5, has been modified to enhance the comfort level and provide quicker rebound. The upper material features durable skin for added drag protection, but also flexes well with your feet. The underfoot cushioning features Power Cushion+ technology that translates into a plush and bouncy feel, while helping to put that extra energy into every stride. Yonex's Endurance Rubber II holds up strong against the grittiest surfaces, and the one-piece outsole helps to maximize stability when changing directions.

  • Upper: Durable Skin has higher wear resistance while maintaining comfort and support. Heel Stabilizer located at the rear of the shoe, for added stability and support when landing.
  • Midsole: Power Cushion+ for shock absorption, and repulsion. 3D Power Graphite Drive Sheet inserted in the middle portion of the midsole to help maximize lateral stability and to help propel you forward while sprinting.
  • Outsole: Roundsole ensures smooth movements, and the transfer of maximum energy. Endurance Rubber II compound in a modified herringbone pattern, dense rubber in high wear areas, and perpendicular tread on lateral edge to help with sliding.
  • Color: Blue / Green

Excellent shoesHave put about five hours on these and they are excellent shoes. I've worn the Eclipsion 3, 4, and 5's and these are probably my favorite. Loved the 3's, 4's were fine, and these are fantastic. Excellent stability and the fit is great for my foot; I have an fairly average width foot. I've seen a few folks complain that these are slightly narrow, but I think that is misleading. I would say they are slightly more snug in the midfoot, but then the toebox is fairly wide in my honest opinion. Not a speed shoe, but these shoes feel plenty fast and I've never once felt that these were clunky or holding me back. Just an excellent all-around shoe.

Eclipsion 5 Improved CushioningAs a wearer of the previous versions of the Eclipsion (3 and 4), this latest installment is a subtle refinement with a key substantive update. It takes fitment and construction elements primarily from the 3 and the toebox/forefoot has a slightly wider fit more similar to the 3 compared to the 4. Also, the natural forefoot flex has returned due to its similar TPU exterior which does feel a hair thinner and more pliable than the 3 and 4. The ventilation slits throughout the front of the shoe better expose the mesh underlay. The Eclipsion 5 retains a lot of its overall feel with solid lateral stability without feeling clunky. It took virtually no time to break in and was familiar and comfortable from the onset. What distinguishes the 5 is the introduction of Power Cushion +. This denser cushioning element is most noticeable in the forefoot for improved comfort. It’s not mind-blowing but is nonetheless appreciable. This improvement seems to have come with a little cost. I weighed the 3, 4, and 5. Surprisingly, it gained a little weight with each successive iteration and so the 5 is the heaviest of them. That said, the weight difference isn’t even noticeable in my opinion. The gains in forefoot cushioning make the added weight well worth the price of admission. On court the Eclipsion 5 wears very similar to the 3. Plenty stable and good traction on a hard court without feeling like a cement cinder block. Movement comes naturally and the overall comfort remained throughout and after each hitting session. All in all, a nice update to an already solid offering from Yonex!
